Set up and Install Sirius XM
You can install your Radio anywhere you want – In your Vehicle, car, Home, on a Home antenna, Smartphone, etc. Make sure to follow the Installation steps depending on your Vehicle type or in your Home.
Create an account and get A Sirius XM Subscription – Paid or trial that includes Streaming. To use it through Google Home, you will need a Streaming Login.
- Visit the official Sirius XM Website/App and Choose a Subscription Plan.
- Enter your details, name, email, address, and password, and set up your account.
- Follow the Onscreen prompts and Activate your Subscription.
- Once activated, Using your account Credentials, You can log in on the Google Home app or any other platform.
What you’ll need to connect Sirius XM to Google Home
- Firstly, Install the Google Home app on your compatible device- Android or iOS.
- Sign in to the app using your account credentials.
- Make sure to set up your Sirius XM, Create an account, and Subscribe.
- A Supported Google Assistant-enabled device – Set up your Smart Speaker or Display if you have not done it already by following the onscreen instructions.
- Make sure that All your devices – Speaker, Sirius XM, and phone are connected to a common internet source.
Add Sirius XM to the Google Home App
Once you have set up the pre-requisite for the process, you can start Linking. Use the Google Home App, To link your Sirius XM with the Google ecosystem. You can do it on the app and also link to your Google Assistant-enabled devices. Such as Google Nest Mini and Google Home or supported Hub.
However, there are two ways that you can add Sirius XM to Google Home.
If the Sirius XM is already installed :
Open the Google Home app >Tap on the + icon>Add Services >Radio >Sirius XM>Tap OK. Now Click on Link your Sirius XM account, follow the prompts, and complete by tapping on OK.
In case, Sirius XM is not installed – Follow the steps given below ;
- Open the Google Home app and Tap on the + icon.
- Click Add Services, Select Radio, and Tap on Sirius XM.
- Now, on Link your Sirius XM Account, Tap OK to allow and Link.
- Click on Agree and complete Linking.
- OR Launch the Google Home app, Tap on +, Add services/Media > Manage your System.
- Choose Radio and Select Sirius XM>Link your Sirius XM account > Tap OK.
However, The further Linking options can vary depending on the account you are signing into.
- Using Same Account: In case, you are using the same email address for Sirius XM and Google Home. Tap on Yes and Share > Agree and Link.
- Using Different Account: If you have different accounts for listeners, Then you can tap on I have one with another email. Use your Sirius XM account credentials – Username and Password and Sign in.
- If you are a new user, You can simply create a new trial account with your existing Google Home account. Tap on No, Create One, >Enter details, and Create and Link option.
Once you have successfully linked your Sirius XM to Google Home, you can ask Google to Play anything that you want to hear.
Unlink and Relink your Account
If you are facing any issues with SiriusXM through Google Home, you can relink, restart , update, and check your internet connection.
In case, you have changed your subscription, Then you might want to Relink your account on the Google Home App. To Relink, You first have to unlink your account on the Home app and Clear your Cache files.
- Open Google Home>Settings>Services >Radio>Sirius XM >Unlink >Confirm Unlink.Once done. You will see a LINK option, Click on it, enter your credentials and Relinking is done. Refresh the app to save any changes.
